Shopping in Chiang Mai….

The purpose of coming to Chiang Mai was to take some time to relax. It’s funny that relaxing is about the last thing we have done so far! There is just so much to do!!!

We’ve been spending a lot of time (and too much money) shopping in the many night bazaars. I’ve spent many hundreds of Baht (1 USD = 33 Thai Baht) on…..clothes! I hope my backpack can zip when I need to leave Chiang Mai! And hopefully my clothes-laden backpack doesn’t break my back! But technically, I needed more pants to replace the ones ripped in Bangkok!

(I need to take pics of us shopping!!! Stay tuned...)

One of my biggest purchases (biggest in price….and size) was a huge elephant painting nearly 4 feet tall! I do not know what got into me, but I fell in complete love with this painting. The colors are beautifully matching my theme colors of this trip (purple, red and yellow) and the elephant will match my elephant-themed “belly dancing” room back home.

Here is a picture of me and the artist!

So, will you mail the painting home or carry it around Asia?? :)
