Dance classes in Chiang Mai…..

One of the most challenging but rewarding things I am doing in Thailand is taking a week of traditional Thai dance classes. I signed up for a 20 hour session, and had originally planned on taking 4 hours of dance classes per day for five days. But after two days of four hour dance class, I was so worn out that I could barely move!!! My muscles were so sore I could hardly make it up the three flights of stairs to our hostel room!!! My mind was having a hard time remembering the dances and I just was not making any progress. I was mentally and physically burned out. So, I talked to my teacher about taking only three hours per day and having a day off every couple of days. My teacher was relieved to hear it, she was just as tired as I was. So, now instead of being a chore, dance class is fun again!
