Chiang Mai trek…

Supposedly, the thing to do when you go to Chiang Mai is to go on a trek. So….we went on a trek.
Step 1. Ride in the truck for nearly forever.


Step 2. Walk around the orchid and butterfly farm.

Step 3. Ride in the truck for nearly forever.


Step 4. Stop and see members of the Karen hill tribes.

Step 5. Ride in the truck some more.


Step 6. Ride an elephant for awhile.


Step 6.5 Get thrown across the river in a cage.


Step 7. Have lunch. Pad Thai wrapped in banana leaves.


Step 8. Ride in the truck some more.


Step 9. Hike for an hour to a waterfall.


Step 9.3 Get distracted by a cute little hill tribe girl trying to give me a butterfly.


Step 9.64 Finally get to the waterfall.



Step 9.8 Get wet because it is so gosh darn hot.


Step 10. Ride in the truck some more.


Step 11. Go white water rafting. (Luckily, there are NO pictures of this because we were wearing the dorkiest helmets and life vests ever.)

Step 12. Float down the river on a bamboo raft.

Step 13. Eat ice cream and relax.


Step 14. Ride literally forever in the truck, back to Chiang Mai.


Step 15. Relax back at the hostel.
